Luke tells us how such acts of faith are richly rewarded.

Jesus and peter fishing. After eating with jesus, peter has a conversation with jesus, and jesus asks peter to feed jesus' sheep. And it’s all because of the time when jesus said, “come follow me” peter responded with, “yes, i will.” The second miraculous catch of fish is also called the miraculous catch of 153 fish, and seems to recall the first catch.

[] it happened this way: Besides, who knows best about fishing. When he had finished teaching, jesus said to peter, put the boat further out into the deep water and let down your nets to catch some fish. we've been fishing all night long and haven't caught a thing, but if you say so, we will let down the nets one more time, peter answered.

Jesus the carpenter or peter the fisherman? Matthew and mark’s accounts are an almost identical telling of when jesus approached their fishing boats. Simon peter said to them, i am going fishing. they said to him, we will go with you. they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing. when peter announced that he was going fishing, they decided to go with him.

Jesus needed a better pulpit, so he climbed into simon’s boat and asked, “simon, can you let me sit in your boat while i talk to these folks? 21 afterward jesus appeared again to his disciples, by the sea of galilee. The first time we hear about peter in the book of matthew, the story tells us he is fishing.

Peter, who didn’t deserve to be near jesus at all. And more than that, jesus told him to come with him. Instead, jesus invited peter to come with him.

Thomas, james, john, and some other disciples went with him. Jesus happened to be preaching along the shoreline just where peter and his friends were working. 15 when they had finished breakfast, jesus asked simon peter, “simon, son of john, do you love me more than these?”

Simon peter had gone back to fishing, but he found that nothing in the entire world compared to being with jesus. Jesus, powerful as he is, allowed peter and the others to catch fish, even at a time when lamps wouldn't be useful in luring fish. “c’mon, i’ll make you a fisher of.

Nevertheless at thy word i will let down the net” (luke 5:5). And simon peter became one of the greatest fishers of men the world has ever seen. Jesus takes the opportunity of this miracle to call his disciples into a teacher—student relationship with him.

3 “i’m going out to fish,” simon peter told them, and they said, “we’ll go with you. Jesus said to them, 'bring some of the fish you have just caught.' so simon peter climbed back into the boat and dragged the net ashore. Not even a little bit.

13 jesus took the bread, gave it to them, and did the same with the fish. Jesus of course was known as a carpenter’s son who grew up in nazareth, a town about a day’s walk up into the steep hills that separated the galilee from the plains of megiddo to the west. Fishermen know that fishing has to be done at night, so fish can be drawn to lamps.

Some of these men were andrew and john, peter and philip and nathanael. 14 this was now the third time that jesus revealed himself to the disciples after he had been raised from the dead. As you may know, some of the disciples were fisherman.

Peter and andrew were fishermen from bethsaida, a fishing village (bethsaida means “house of fishing”) on the northeastern shore of the sea of galilee. Jesus and the miraculous catch of fish. Jesus said to them, 'come and have breakfast.' none of the disciples dared ask him, 'who are you?' they knew it was the lord.

While jesus was teaching near jerusalem and in samaria, these men stayed with jesus; Some of jesus' disciples had been fishermen before becoming his disciples. But when he came to galilee, they went to their homes and work, for most of them were fishermen from the sea of galilee.

Discouraged peter confessed to jesus, “master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: In other words, jesus wants peter to nurture and take care of fellow christian believers. Overcome, peter knew jesus was special and fell to his knees before him.

Immediately, peter, andrew, james, and john leave their boats and nets behind and follow him. Peter drags the net full of fish to shore. Along with his brother they are throwing their net into the lake, and jesus calls them to follow him and he will make them fishers of men.

They drop their nets and follow jesus. Yet after fishing the whole night, the disciples caught nothing. Peter, who had doubted jesus and mocked him when he said to let down the nets.

But when simon peter saw that, he fell down at jesus' feet, saying, go away from me lord, for i am a sinful man! for amazement had seized him and all his companions because of the catch of fish which they had taken; The crowds pressed in on jesus, making it difficult for people in the back to see or hear. But luke adds more detail, painting a picture of peter and jesus having a sincere moment.

Some time after jesus appeared to the apostles, peter decided to go fishing in the sea of galilee. All night long they fished but did not catch anything. Hen jesus began to teach the people by the river jordan, a few young men came to him as followers, or disciples.

It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many, the net was not torn. Through this conversation, jesus lets peter know that he loves peter, despite peter's betrayal of jesus earlier. And so they would've naturally felt disappointed.

He and his coworkers caught more fish than their nets or boats could hold! 2 simon peter, thomas (also known as didymus []), nathanael from cana in galilee, the sons of zebedee, and two other disciples were together. Simon peter said to them, i am going fishing. they said to him, we will also come with you.

Remember, when jesus christ had first called brothers peter and andrew and brothers james and john, fishermen, they had just fished all night and caught nothing. Night is the best time for catching fish. He figuratively catches peter in his net before commanding him to catch men for the kingdom of god.

Jesus sat in the boat teaching the people. He made one more attempt in obedience to jesus. The activities below will help children better understand this event in peter’s life—and the fact.
